Ricardo - Eugh
Well last Monday I advertised English Classes with me up around the uni building opposite my flat. Just gave a price per hour and a contact number. The first call I got was from a guy hoping to learn English. He asked to meet that afternoon by San Telmo to get to know each other and to arrange how to go on from there. I was surprised from the start as he was 42. I found it impossible to tell ages, especially over the phone, but I had just assumed this was going to be a student not an adult. Anyway, it didn’t really matter I thought, it’s still money. His English was pretty ok but he was odd. His eyes crossed slightly so I was never quite sure where he was looking and generally I just felt really uncomfortable under his gaze. Also, his conversation was odd. He seemed quite awkward and kept talking about music and quoting song lyrics and stuff. At the end of the hour we had agreed that rather than my flat I would go to his office three times a week to teach him for one hour. This would be enough money to pay my rent each month. He showed me his office – I was a little concerned that no-one else was there at the time as this would be the time that I would go to teach. Then he asked me if I wanted to be shown the cinema which was about 2 minutes from his office. I was feeling pretty weirded out by this point so declined and headed home. I got a text from him as I was on my way to work the next morning asking me if I wanted to go to the beach in Maspalomas with him on Saturday “Caroline – you enjoy very much” I didn’t reply. I was meant to be teaching him later on this evening, I decided that if he brought it up I’d just say “I don’t think that’s very appropriate but thanks for offering”. Turns out there was no need as later in the day I got a text from him saying “Caroline I pay to you 200 euros to fuck with you im hn hot y I getting deep you exeting I eat all your body your sex I want yotr sex”. Eugh. I was amazed. So gross.
I think what upset me most about it was that he obviously thought he stood a bit of a chance if he bothered to send the text. I don’t know whether it was because he thought I was a student, and needed the money, or because I’m English and the English are easy, or what. But I didn’t take kindly to the implication that he half expected a yes out of me – and for the grand old price of 200 Euros. Nothing like having a bit of worth is there. LOL. If I saw him in the street and he tried to talk to me I would wallop him one.
